Changes in COSMOS Fantasy basic game rules from November 2004 to March 2007
This document describes the changes in the March 2007 edition of the
COSMOS Fantasy basic game rules.
This is a minor revision, the most important difference being the two
new orders alias and myalias ("imported" form
Stellar Conflict). If you have played before November 2004 you
might want to check up on
earlier changes.
Other than a few cosmetic changes and a few index entries added, the
differences from the previous edition are:
- Section 1.2 changed.
The section explining how play-by-email works has been updated to
reflect that now orders are entered online on a web page. Mention
of "orders being entered by the GM" were also removed from section 3.1.
- The description of modification of pending orders was moved.
The descriptions of the clear, break, insert
and embed orders were moved from section 3 to section 21.
- Clarification: Resources are used when an order is first begun.
It is now explicitly mentioned that in general all resources needed for
an order will be used when the order is first begun and are lost if the
order is interrupted (with the exception that some resources are recovered if a
recruit order should be interrupted).
Section 6.
- New feature: Aliases.
You can now refer to units and locations using aliases
rather than ID numbers. You define your own aliases
with the new alias and myalias orders.
Useful for when you cannot predict the ID number of a new unit you are
recruiting.
Section 21.6.
